Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a mind/body psychotherapy that assists the nervous system return to healthy
functioning when it has become stuck in an unresolved fight, flight, or freeze pattern. Many have heard of Post Traumatic
Stress Disorder (PTSD) which is a severe form of nervous system disorder. There are also nervous disorders as a result of
traffic accidents, bodily injuries, assults, medical procedures, simple or not so simple falls, and more. The nervous system
can also become disrupted from relationships that are abusive or as a result of parenting styles that did not meet the emotional
needs of the child which often lead to anxiety and depression in adulthood. The good news is that
the nervous system is plastic and with focused attention in the therapuetic context, it can be worked with carefully and gently
to discharge the stuck and repetitive nueronal and autonomic nervous system pathways for remarkeable healing and healthy functioning.
